Our 9th Wedding Anniversary and a Few Embarrassing Pictures

You heard me right. This is going to be juicy. We are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary today and why not give you a little present? Enter our EMBARRASSING PICTURES. I mean, you’ve followed along with us this long – why not reward you a bit?

So this is how it goes.

Boy meets girl freshman year of highschool.

Erica and Shaun start dating and makes her boyfriend go to silly little things like ROTC functions (girl was in the Air Force branch of JROTC).

Erica even manages to get this blackmail photo during prom. Shaun was determined to wear this baby blue three piece suit his 70 year old neighbor gave to him.

Shaun and Erica moved in together during college. They shared shaved head haircuts and fear of parents when they found out about the joint household.

Wedding2-2

Shaun and Erica get married on May 15, 2004. Shaun was 20. Erica was 21. They looked like babies.

They went on a honeymoon to Barbados – their first time out of the country. This trip is what started their wanderlust. Oh man, look at the lack of tattoos on those bodies.

It was like they were in love or something.

They traveled whenever their jobs allowed.

And took advantage of the fact they worked at Blizzard and went traveling to Anaheim to work BlizzCon.

And even make it across the street to Disneyland for Erica’s first visit.

But most of all, they really enjoy each others company.

And take the time to laugh and be silly.

They can only hope they look this badass when they are old and gray after all of their future adventures around the world.

And the best part of the day is when I open my facebook and see this awesome, mushy message on my wall:

From Shaun:

“I found the best partner to chase dreams with, both at home and abroad, and here we are after 9 years of marriage (and 5 dating before that) more in love than ever. Happy anniversary, sugarlips”

So after 14 years together, 9 of them married and celebrated today, we raise our virtual glass to you guys and thank you for joining us on our journey.

*Cheers!*

I hope you enjoy our horribad pictures.

  1. I think you should:
    1) Keep a chart of your grand total piercings and/or tattoos per year over time
    2) Take a photo of you two at age 80 trying to look like you’re both 15, and then post it alongside the old-people-costume photo and see how many people don’t realize which is which.

    1. Believe it or not, we actually have less piercings than we did 10 years ago lol. I’ve taken quite a few out as they get really annoying when traveling. 😛

Although – I will TOTALLY take a picture at 80 and do a side by side comparison.

    1. I’m so sad I didn’t take more during the past 10 years (before I was a photographer). I feel like I’m missing so much!

  2. congratulations!!! i hope you know how lucky you are to have found each other!!! and hope you celebrate!!! 🙂 xx amy

  4. Cutest. Post. EVER. How cute were you both back in high school! Shaun doesn’t happen to have a younger brother say around 18-19 years old, does he?

  5. Congrats on 9 years of marriage! I’m working on my third with the hubband, hope we’ll have some great pictures when we get to 9 years. I think that sometimes the embarassing photos are the ones that bring back the best memories. 🙂

  6. CONGRATULATIONS! I love seeing the pictures and how you guys have been together since HS. That is so sweet. Also, props to posting pics of your prom up there. I would never have done that. Haha! 1. Thanks Robyn. I’m trying to grow my hair back out for that reason. I missed it dearly AND I can rock red lipstick like a son of a bitch!

  9. I somehow missed this post when it went up. Something about finishing up my master’s thesis put me in some kind of blogging black hole for a while… 😉

But can I just say that you two are ADORABLE?!? Seriously.
