Now is your chance to make the jump into more professional pictures. Bethany of Beers&Beans has made the basics of photography readily available and super easy to read via her new book, Getting Out of Auto. She provides fantastic examples using easy to understand picture sequences to show what different settings can produce.
One of the major perks to the book is that she also takes you through her most popular pictures and how to achieve the different effects she is known for. Bethany is a very versatile photographer and I know I’ve have been curious about how she accomplished some of her stunning pictures.
Seriously though, she covers everything you need to know to get on your feet. My favorite chapters are the HDR bit (hey, I still learn new things every day!) and the paper cut out composition. While I personally do the cheesy “director” finger frame, she brings up nifty tricks that will help your composition and overall picture.
If you are seriously looking to push your boundaries as a photographer, or even your personal pictures, I highly suggest checking out Getting Out of Auto to get your mad skills in gear.

Disclosure: While I did get the ebook for free, all opinions are my own. If you do click on the banners I do get a small commission, but again, this really is a fantastic book and I wouldn’t support it if I didn’t wholeheartedly believe in it.
