Experiencing Cuzco, Peru with Roomorama

Cuzco Roomorama

I admit, we arrived to Cuzco a bit apprehensive. Every time we had used a room rental company before, we had an apartment to ourselves rather than a single room in a B&B like we found ourselves in at that moment.

Cuzco_Roomorama-6Roomorama definitely picked a good property to place on their list. Not only were we picked up from the airport by one of the guys at Net House, Mikele, but were driven to the B&B while simultaneously given a general tour of the city (that definitely helped us out later when we decided to wander aimlessly through the city of Cuzco).

We arrived to two steaming hot cups of coca tea just as our altitude sickness kicked in. A very lovely gesture, not to mention, something that saved our butts when we were down and out over the next few days. There was always mate ready for the weary traveler.

Thank god for short term rentals like this, as it was exactly what we needed. Net House was already the quiet we were needing after the party hostel in Lima with plenty of inviting blankets ready to be used… not to mention a heater. WAIT WHAT? I guess that really means it was going to be cold here. I almost feel spoiled. What am I saying, it is awesome to be in a room with a heater. We have been heatless for the past 9 months. And yes, we were extremely grateful for it. Clean towels were waiting for us, a luxury for any backpacker. Our travel towels were put on the backburner and hot showers awaited us with warm towels (don’t forget you can put them on the radiator heater!).

The kitchen was immaculate as well. Each morning we got to dictate what time we would be eating breakfast and every morning the attentive staff would have it ready for us. Coffee, coca tea, fresh bread, butter, jam, and fresh juice made my tummy rumble as I approached the table. Honestly, nothing gets the day off to a right start like breakfast in an airy, well lit kitchen. Not to mention, being on a budget means that free breakfast is always looked forward to.

They were also extremely generous and let us leave our backpacks with them while we headed out to Machu Picchu for 2 days.

All in all I think this place is perfect for the splurge if you find yourself in Cuzco. And by splurge, I mean by backpacker standards. For a very affordable $35 a night, Net House is freaking fantastic.
