This is my first HDR experiment! I’m sure they will get better as time progresses but overall I’m extremely pleased with how it came out. Welcome to Lake Atitlan near San Pedro la Laguna in Guatemala. This beautiful lake has been photographed by a gazillion photographers… and for a good reason. It is beautiful!
Guatemala was a wee bit rainy and dreary while we were there but created this awesome gloom along the mountains surrounding the lake. Enjoy!
Beautiful picture!
Oh that is an amazing shot. Lake Atitlan is probably one of the most beautiful natural sites I have ever seen in my life!
@Sailor: Thank you!
I really like this picture too! Sometimes gloomy weather really sets a picture.
@Debbie: I think it is important to capture things, even if they aren’t in “perfect” order.
Great job, Erica! I’ve always hesitated to try HDR or time lapse videos as it’s just another time I would spend way too much time trying to perfect! And time at the moment is one thing I don’t have.
Mwhahahahahaha. They are in the HDR pool with the rest of us now!
I remember those canoes! Cool shot. 🙂
@C&C: Thank you! I know I’m addicted to time lapse – I just don’t have the extra HD space to put everything I would like to do. It has been interesting so far. I’m hoping for more dynamic pics in the future.
@Michael: Yeah… I’ve been trying to avoid that gravy train but I can’t help it. Landscapes are AWESOME.
@Matthew: They were zipping all over the place. I had to capture one.
Beautiful and you’re getting better and better with these amazing shot.
I love this photo. Interestingly enough, Lake Atitlan was the same place I took my first HDR photo just a few weeks ago.
@Mike: Isn’t it awesome how a place can be so inspiring?
