Even though we went through some craziness with Cartagena, the city will hold a special place in my heart. We spent most of our days with our friends from the Santana crew exploring the Old City and taking in the warm energy that takes over.
There is something about the air, the energy, and the people that started my obsession with Colombia. What a better way to be welcomed to my new favorite country than with their 200th Independence celebration and amazing architecture?
Enjoy the very obvious Spanish architecture and design found in this beautiful city.
Lovely photos. Cartagena looks like a really interesting city to explore.
We loved Cartagena! Spectacular photos. How bloody hot is is up there!
Ah love the photos… I love the 1st one and the last 2 the most!
Ooooh, GORGEOUS shots guys!
Great photos Erica!!
Gorgeous photos! 🙂
I love the colours of Cartagena. It’s a very photographic city isn’t it?
All of these gorgeous photos from Central and South America are really tempting me to head down there before I bop across the Atlantic!
Fantastic! Nice work Erica!
Great shots…from a progressing nation!
@Dean: Getting to Colombia we had no expectations but oh man, did I like what I saw!
@Anthony: I’m just glad that we had a fan. It would have been unbearable with out it. Although, there were some nights where I wished we put some extra cash in for the A/C.
@Jaime: The colors Jaime! OH THE COLORS. And I could say, without a doubt, that you would LOVE it here. Like, seriously. That, and did you know that there are civil unions allowed here? We know someone on a spousal visa.
@Heather: Thank you girlie! It was like eye candy everywhere.
@Ali: Thank you! It is so easy when everything is so beautiful.
@Cailin: Thank you lady!
@Erin: It is definitely easy for sure. It had been a while since I had been in a city like that.
@D: Get your booty down here!
@Randy: Thanks! I’m trying to pull the powers of Beth!
@Kurt: It is weird because sometimes progressing nations have more technology than back at home. Free wifi is almost guaranteed at most public parks and libraries. I don’t even get that at home. I am baffled at what is considered a progressing nation now.
Colombia is a beautiful country we keep on coming back to and now your photos leave me craving for some more! I agree with your last comment, it is clear that the public space is very much alive in Central and South America. Alive with people and technology. Let’s hope the mall don’t take over!
@Victor: I definitely understand now what draws people here – I had no clue. Now Colombia is one of my favorite countries.
Gorgeous photos! I love the one with the rainbow. The ones you took of the old town are beautiful, too.
@Clara: Thank you! I really loved the colors and atmosphere of Cartagena. Very easy to take pictures when the city is stunning!
Lovely photos! What camera/lens did you use?
@Alexa: I have a Nikon D300S but I think I was using my kit lens which is an 18-50mm. And thank you!
