I am a museum nut. There. I said it. I like to spend hours looking at things with childish wonder – eyes completely open. The Natural History Museum in London did not disappoint. Not only is an activity like this budget friendly (they do not charge admission for the general exhibits), but can provide a good day’s worth of entertainment.
The grandeur of this building cannot be overstated.
It. Is. Amazing.
Wow, I want to go visit this museum just for the architecture. Absolutely beautiful!
Gorgeous photo! I’m less enthralled with museums, but I would definitely visit this one for the architecture.
I really don’t know what it is with museums that makes us want to just look at their display. lol. The pic you took of London’s Natural History Museum is really beautiful π You were able to emphasize the building’s wonderful architecture.
We are into museums too and this one looks fantastic – love the details in your photography!
Beautiful travel photography! Museums are divine places.
@Debbie: The thing is, this is only part of it. Add the crazy dinosaur bones to the display and it becomes epic!
@Christy: Shaun is less than enthralled with them as well – but they did have dino bones so he was happy.
@Marcello: Thank you! I LOVE architecture – as you can tell by the million buildings I have posted. π
@Adrian: Thank you! I think details make a picture. π This is a must see!
@Sonya: Thanks! They are places where my inner geek is safe!
Ok I’m really NOT a museum nut. I planned a trip to Prague for Thanksgiving weekend, and because there are no direct flights on Delta during the winter, I purposely booked myself an 11 hour layover in London so I could take pictures of things I saw when I was 14, but also so I could go to the British Museum. It was by far the most boring part of my day. It takes all kinds I guess π
@Ali: That is quite the layover! I don’t think I’ve ever thought to do something like that.
stunning!!! oh, and i heart museums too. completely dorked out in paris π bet you’ll have some fab pics from the big trip!
@Lorna: Thank you. I would have to spend an entire day at the Louvre. I’m one of “those” people that will look at paintings for an extended period of time.
Erica I love this photo! I think it’s one of my favorites yet!!!
The Natural History Museum in London Is beautiful. I was just at the DC one and I think the one you saw was way grand and huge. O yea, I’m a museum person too, we need to go to museum together one day.
@Sarah: I would go to a museum with you in a heartbeat. I’m sure Shaun wouldn’t mind me going with someone else. π
Gorgeous! Hope you post more on this fabulous museum…
I’m hoping to go back this fall. Maybe I’ll grab some more pictures. <3
Did you take this picture yourself? Great perspective of the building. I was really into landscape and architecture photography when I lived in Washington, DC. Sometimes the buildings are actually more interesting than the artwork inside.
