I clasped the blankets closer to my chest as I woke up, shivering. “What the hell is going on?” I wrap myself in a blanket burrito as I slug over to my computer. W-E-A-T-H-E-R.COM – 53 degrees (yes, I’m a weenie). I look outside in horror. Where did my summer go? How is it already October? What felt like an endless summer quickly turned into autumn before my eyes.
I immediately thought of warmer times. Sipping cocktails on the beach. Digging toes into white sand beaches. Spending hours picking out the perfect shells to bring home. I want to be back. I have beach on the brain lately and what better way to be in cold-weather denial than to finally post the amazing pictures I captured from our time at Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island.
Disclosure: We were guests of The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel Island, however all opinions are our own.
I’m diggin’ those beaches. And the lack of people on ’em too. 🙂
Simply stunning beach shots – I was feeling the tiniest bit tired and now… Ahhhhh!
Coming from a place that is in a perpetual summer, I’d like to say I understand. But, man do I miss mornings like that, where it is cold enough to just stay warm in bed! Gorgeous photos!
What great pics! Loved the one with the shells…the beach with the bird was nice too. So now that we are in Florida, perhaps For Meyers will be one of our first trips. Thanks for the idea with your inspiring pictures. And we know what you mean about the cold. We just spend some time up in New England and damn, those mornings were cold. Glad to be back in the warm again. Thailand has spoiled us too and now we find anything cooler than 70 degrees unbearable. hahaha 🙂
So many colors! A very relaxing mood…
I went to Sanibel Island once a million years ago… thanks for bringing me back! I love Florida!
I traveled all around the world this summer, fell in love with beaches in the Mediterranean, yet I gotta say that in the end Sanibel Island is still one of my favorite spots in the world. Maybe it’s just the fact that it was one of the first beaches I swam in (there’s photos of me on that beach at age two), but it’s got a special spot in my heart.
Beautiful pictures, I wouldn’t want summer to end either but fortunately Florida is (almost) summer year-round so you wont have to wait long before enjoying the beach again
Stunning images, looks like an amazing destination.
What a beautiful place … spending this summer down there again?
