It had been 7 years since the last time Shaun and I went snorkeling. We were looking forward to trying it out again since the last time we tried on our honeymoon in Barbados we nearly drowned (long story)… so when we got to Belize I was a bit concerned.
I can say without a doubt that I have become enamored with seeing the ocean through a different set of eyes. Hope you guys enjoy as well! Here it is: Snorkeling Belize

Looks a tonne better than the last snorkelling trip I went on, we were surrounded by colourful fish the whole time but saw nothing of that size – great stuff!

IF you enjoyed snorkeling so much, ever thought of doing a Scubadiving course? It honestlly changed my life. If you can, take a 3 day course, Koh tao tailand (AKA paradise, cheap cheap)… honestlly you’ll get hooked! Love the “killer” manatee BTW.

i only snorkeled for the first time in 2002 and COULD NOT BELIEVE what had been swimming alongside me not even knee deep that i’d been missing all those years. i absolutely love it! i’ve never seen such large creatures though! can’t believe you got to pet fishies! awesome 🙂
@Lorna: I know! The manatee was really scary I’m not going to lie – just because they can knock you unconscious and take you under. The grouper was hilarious because it kept following us around trying to get more food.
Wow, just wow. You know I have never been snorkelling before, but have always wanted to try it as I’m a big animal/nature lover. This has definitely made me want to do it even more. That manatee is so cute 🙂
@Julia: It is a must! I’m always a little scared of water (a fear I’m trying to get over) so snorkeling tends to calm me down. The manatee was AWESOME. Definitely a highlight of my trip.
The snorkeling in Belize was the best snorkeling in all of Central America. So jealous that you got to swim with the manatees… they didn’t come out the day we went snorkeling. Great video!
