Holy mama it has been the craziest last few months and I need to play catch up something fierce. 😀 Between the art show, Burning Man, Austin City Limits, Art Outside, Mike and Steph visiting from Seattle, Talon and Tigger from Mexico, Halloween and a wedding in Las Vegas, a WooCommerce Conference in San Francisco, and our wisdom teeth removed 5 days ago… I would say that we have been keeping BUSY.
Actually, I feel like I’ve been non-stop and I’m dying to get back into my lovely little Austin routine again.
That being said, I have not been this in love with my life… EVER. I’ve finally found that missing piece and I just can’t help but share the sheer joy that I’ve been feeling lately. My job is phenomenal, my husband is amazing, my apartment is shaping up to be a badass little home base, and we’re going to be traveling again (and no, this isn’t the insane amount of painkillers that I’m on talking).
Hear that folks?! We have TRAVEL PLANS. Like, on our own. No press trips. Good ol’ Erica and Shaun are paying it out of pocket and doing whatever the hell we want to do with our time travel. Well, not time travel, but you get the point. (Shaun is now being a grammar nazi about my damn time travel reference.)
So what is in store for our upcoming travel?
Granby Ranch – Colorado
Shaun has been itching to hit the slopes for some time now – and now he can! This time I will be taking some lessons from the pros (much needed) so I don’t suck and slide down the mountain on my ass the whole time. Wee! Per tradition, we are spending New Years away from home, and I can’t imagine a more perfect place – snow, a roaring fire, and good company.
Seattle
Because, why the hell not? Not only have we never been there, but we’re hoping to catch up with some of our best buds, Mike and Steph.
Lawrence, Kansas
Hometown to my bestfriend Maria, I’m getting to hang out, see where she is from, and enjoy a bit of local beer and great music along the way.
London
London CALLING! …again… for our 6th time. Because we can get enough of this city and I miss the ever living hell out of our friends there. We’re coming back. For a week. I think. Sometime in July.
Mediterranean Cruise
We’ve been convinced by some fellow Burners that we should give a cruise a try. We’ve been pretentious assholes about avoiding it like the plague – but like any adventure, it is about the company you keep while you’re getting into trouble. Venice, Italy, Dubrovnik, Croatia, Kotor, Montenegro, Athens and Corfu, Greece await us.
Houseboat down the Alsace
This one hasn’t been set in stone but we’re looking into renting a houseboat and floating down the canal for a while. The scenery alone makes this one of the most anticipated trips of the year. <3
Then we may have a few more trips that are undetermined. I know we chatted about Vegas again, maybe Chicago… who knows. I’m just happy that I’m owning this whole work/life balance thing and happy as a clam knowing I have a cute apartment to come home to.
If you don’t love Alsace on a canal boat, I’ll eat my hat. I’LL EAT IT I TELL YOU
Some great plans! Maybe we’ll be in Washington when you come to Seattle. Would be nice to reconnect!
Yay! So happy for you guys – sounds like a great lineup of trips! You should come to San Diego sometime too. 😉 I’m finally getting back out there after 2 years of the least traveling I’ve done in the last 10. (I’m a grammar psycho myself, and I don’t think that was proper form…) Mexico, Iceland, Ireland, and Mediterranean here I come! Can’t wait to read about your adventures!
You got some great travel plans in your future. Believe or not we have NEVER been to London, unless you count that 13 hour layover in Heathrow last week….Can’t wait to read all about the upcoming adventures.
