What better way to raise funds for breast cancer than to hurl your body over obstacles in the mud! Welcome to the Dirty Girl Mud Run, where Girl Power is still incredibly prevalent and the point is to finish – not be the fastest.
Somehow my roommate convinced me that this is something I should do with her. Seeing as it was in March, when Austin starts seeing its first bit of Spring, I shouldn’t have been too surprised at my luck as an intense cold front came through and dropped our temperature by 25 degrees (F).
But I did it. I had been on the treadmill for the previous 4 months and I was ready to tackle my first 5k. If running it wasn’t hard enough, I didn’t take into consideration the fact that there were a slew of obstacles. I had known about the mud… but I didn’t know that I would find mud in places there shouldn’t ever be mud.
Sorry to all the “BusinesSweeties” for how long it took me to get this out! I hope you enjoy!
Haha. That’s hilarious. Sometimes, we should really do things that we could laugh at in the future in order to spice up our lives. 😉
I wasn’t expecting the obstacle course to be that long! Looks like it was exhausting – and a lot of fun!
