It has been a year. Little did I know that what started as a hobby would consume my life. I feel so incredibly blessed to get to know you guys and to have you with us on our upcoming travels.
A few things that have happened over the past year:
- March 11ish 2010: I created Over Yonderlust on a WordPress.org site.
- April 2, 2010: I decided I needed to move everything to a more permanent .com site.
- Over the next few months: I got to know the other newbies on the block: No Place to Be, Traveling Savage, Runaway Juno, YTravel Blog, Adventurous Kate, and I’m sure a plethora of other people I’m going to get razzed about for not mentioning.
- July 16, 2010: Shaun convinced me to pursue my dreams and I left my “real” job to work on the blog and as an assistant wedding photographer to brush up on my photo skills.
- August 24, 2010-September 14, 2010: We drive across the Southwest/West United States to go to Burning Man and drive down the Pacific Coast Highway.
- November 2010: We push back our original leave date from December 26 to early to mid 2011.
- January 2011: We start to sell our big things, small things, and minimize our things to about 25% of what we had originally.
- March 2011: We almost have sold everything we intend on selling. Also, Bethany from Beers & Beans somehow convinces me to upgrade my camera from a Nikon D80 to a Nikon D300S. Better pictures coming up this year!
- March 11ish, 2011: Over Yonderlust turns 1!
Without saying too much, our trip is getting very close.
I just would like to let you know that we would not be where we are today without your support. You guys have pushed us to not only better the site but give us guidance in our planning and choices for the trip. We thank you so much for joining us this past year and hope to have you along for our epic year in 2011.
Congratulations guys!! I’m a relatively new reader to your blog, and have only been reading for the past month or so, but can’t wait to follow along whilst you go on your big adventure!! 😀
Congrats guys – you were a big inspiration to us when we started, can’t believe that was 5 months ago now! Keep up the great work and looking forward to more awesome stories and beautiful photos!
